Caprara’s Thunder Alley Speed Park Honors Champions and Top Finishers at Annual Awards Banquet

By Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design - November 1, 2011

After a successful 2011 season at Caprara’s Thunder Alley Speed Park, the track honored their champions and top finishers this past weekend at the annual awards banquet at the Fire Hall in Evans Mills, New York.  A capacity crowd was on hand as the top finishers in all classes were recognized for their efforts this season.

“The banquet was a great success”, says track General Manager Greg Smith.  “We honored our champions and top finishers, and it was just a good night to get everyone together one final time this season and celebrate a great season”.

Jeff Rowe was the 2011 Open Wheel Modified track champion with two feature wins and 14 top five finishes in 19 events this season.  Billy Matteson was the track champion in the Thunder Car division, leading the way with nine feature wins.  Dustin VanTasel led the way in the Legends class, also getting to victory lane nine times this year.  Amanda De Foe was the Jr. Thunder Care champion with seven wins, while Devin Thorton topped the Jr. Thunder Stock class with 4 feature wins.   Ike Stone dominated the Super Stock division with nine feature wins as well.  Dan Swem didn’t make it to victory lane in 2011, but he was consistent enough to capture the Thunder Stock championship.  Jenn Burnash won eight times in 2011 on her way to the Women’s Truck division championship.  Scott Schafer won all but one of 14 events this season as he cruised to the championship in the Sports Compaq championship.  Randy Mooney was the Men’s Truck champion, posting five feature wins along the way.

“Congratulations goes out to all of our champions this season”, adds Smith.  “We want to thank everyone that raced at Thunder Alley this season, and the track officials, and of course the race fans that came out each week”.

The 2012 season will be here before we know it.  We want to wish everyone a happy and safe Holiday Season coming up, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the track in the New Year.
