TIM SEARS MAKES FIRST TRIP TO THUNDER ALLEY A WINNER

EVANS MILLS, NY......Tim Sears made his first ever visit to Caprara's Thunder Alley Speedpark a winning one, as he passed leader John Ramsey when Ramsey's car faltered on lap 18 and held off another first time visitor, David Hebert, to take the checkers in Friday night's 30-lap DIRT Modified feature event. Hebert came from the back of the field twice, as he tangled with Ramsey early in the feature and restarted from the rear of the field. Karl Comfort, also a first time visitor to the track, found the outside groove to his liking, making his way to third at the finish. Track regulars Bob Bennett and Doug Fuller rounded out the top five.

The 12-lap Street Stock feature event saw Dave Pope and Dave Mannise battle side by side for several laps until Pope cut a right rear tire and spun in turn two. Mannise stayed on the point till the finish for his third win of the season. Dana Aikens held off Keith Doxtater for second, followed by Zeke McKeown and Dave Fetterly.

In Thundercar action, Josh Verne grabbed his eighth win of the season in the 4 Cyl. Dometic division, pulling away from Jock Symonds and Randy Bowman to collect the win. Mike Parker got a career first win in the 4 Cyl. Foreign class, inheriting the lead when Robert Martin's right front tire went flat on the next to last lap. Rush Walts was a double winner, nipping James Hall in the 6 Cyl. feature and also outgunning Mike Durham in the Trucks, while Kevin Smith recorded another win in the 8 Cyl. class.
