Caprara, Meeks, Trapp, Bice, Youngs and Jones Grab Thunder Alley Wins

Evans Mills, NY - Thunder Alley Speed Park in Evans Mills NY, closed its 2006 season with double points for all divisions while they crowned their track champions.

Tyler Bartlett and Bob Bennett led the field to green with Bartlett taking early command of the 21-car field. Ryan Bartlett and Tim Sears moved around Bob Bennett to take over the second and third position while Mike Adderly worked on the back of Tim O’Brien’s bumper in the fifth place position. Frankie Caprara was making his name known as he moved under Adderly to take over the sixth position and challenged Tim O’Brien for fifth. Frankie Caprara moved low under Bennett to take over position three and then quickly moved under Tyler Bartlett for second. Billy Dunn moved under Tim Sears to take over fifth position as Dunn easily worked his way up from his 11th place starting position. Dunn then moved under Bob Bennett for the third position while Frankie Caprara took the lead away from Ryan Bartlett. Mike Adderly began to apply pressure to Caprara while Lance Willix watched the battle from his fifth place running position. Pat O’Brien moved under Danny O’Brien to take over the sixth position while Lance Willix moved under Mike Adderly for fourth. Pat O’Brien wasted no time as he moved under Willix to take over fourth and Billy Dunn to take over the third position. O’Brien then set his sights on Ryan Bartlett and Frankie Caprara who currently held the second and first positions on the field. When the checkered flag flew, Frankie Caprara picked up win number five at Thunder Alley. Caprara also took the Big Block Championship at Thunder Alley while Pat O’Brien took the 358 Modified Championship for 2006.

In the 20 lap Sportsman Feature, Dan Ferguson and Tyler Rand led the field to green with Ferguson commanding lap one. Jordan Bennett slid under Rand and Ferguson to take over the lead while Jack Meeks worked his magic under Brandon Sweet to take over the second position. On lap three, current point leader Chris Higgins slowed on the front stretch and went pit side. Jack Meeks moved high around Jordan Bennett on lap four to take over the lead of the field, while Chris Raabe moved under Mark Webb to take over position number four. Brandon Sweet and Chris Raabe wasted no time as they slid under Jordan Bennett to take over position two and three while Raabe tried to move under Sweet. Billy Eisele moved into the top five by moving under Mark Webb for the position, Eisele then moved under Bennett to take over position four. Meanwhile the rest of the field tried to catch up to Jack Meeks who was commanding the field, but had no success as Meeks went on to pick up the win at the 2006 Sportsman Championship at Thunder Alley.

OJ White and Jessica Powers led the field of 4 Cylinder Foreign cars to green with OJ taking the early lead on the field. Nelson Bice moved under OJ White to take over the lead while OJ moved to second, Mike Durham to third and JR Durham to fourth. Mike Durham moved under OJ to take over the second position but it was not enough as Nelson Bice took the checkered flag.

Jim Quinn and Chuck Monica led the field to Matt Burdick’s green flag with Quinn taking over the early lead on the field. Dave Travis quickly moved into the second position and held that spot as Brian McConnell rounded out the top three. Point leader going into the evening was Mike Trapp and he sat in fourth as Robert Scott rounded out the top five. Trapp quickly moved into the second position and set his sights on the leader with one lap remaining. Trapp would take over the lead and the win.

In the Truck Division, David Blair and Kevin Bice commanded the field to green with Blair taking the lead and Kris Bice in second. On lap five, Kris Bice took over the lead on the field while John Van Tassell filled into second. When the checkered flag flew, Bice picked up the win. In the 6/8 Cylinder Bill Youngs and Jiggs Jones picked up the wins.

This past Friday evening, Thunder Alley closed out its 2006 racing season. Thunder Alley will conclude its 2006 season with the annual banquet, with the date and location to be announced in the near future.
